For the purpose of the measurement problems of two phase flow, a special conductance probe with Multi-Electrode Array with centre body was presented in this paper. The FEM method was used to optimize the structure of the Multi-Electrode Array with centre body. Axial uniform degree and radial uniform degree were used to investigate the uniformity of the electric field. By adapting the concept of sensitivity, distribution of sensitivity of phase volume fraction and mixture velocity measuring electrodes were calculated in a wide range of electrode interval. Synchronously, equality of the information obtained from fluids field was guaranteed. For the purpose of getting as much information as possible, the concepts of total information volume, effective information volume and concentration of effective information were used to investigate the'extractive capability'of the Insert Vertical Multi-Electrode Array with centre body. Finally, by using the integrative evaluating indicators, the optimal structural parameters of the Vertical Multi-Electrode Array with centre body were obtained.Based on the characterization that the measurement of two-phase flow rate and phase volume fraction needed the realtime and high-speed mass data transfer, a mini data acquisition system based on USB interface was designed in this paper. At the same time, the application structure of USB protocol and the data acquisition system were made here. Then, the hardware design using ADUC842 microconverter and PDIUSBD12 to achieve USB data transfer was carried out particularly. The WDM driver model based on WINDOWS 2K were designed, and how to realize the PNP & power manage of USB bus was specially introduced here. In this paper, there was the introduction of the UI design likewise, and the using of the multithread technology & kernel data structure were described in detail. Finally, this system can work normally according to our purpose, and we made a step for the further reasch of poket data acquisition system.
