Research The Technology Of Shot Segmentation And Realize Its Algorithm

With the development of multimedia technology and Internet, a great deal of complicated digital information is grown, analyzed, stored, accessed and transferred. Therefore, most is multimedia data, including text, image, video and audio etc. So the video that are obtained and other multimedia data are more and more, the database capability is increasing. How to organize, describe, store, manage, query and search these data has been a key hot problem. If without the automatic and effective description to video data, much information cannot be searched on demand .Content Based Retrieval of multimedia has strong practicability and challenge. To setup a general multimedia object modal and its description mechanism is crucial.This paper is based on a project that our lab cooperates with one company. The project's final destination is building up a system which can realize CBVR.This paper realizes the shot segmentation. First, this paper analyzes the difference of different shot change, then Based of the difference feature we class the shots into gradual shots and cut shot. To detect the cut shot, the color histogram of the frames during the video is compared with each other. To the gradual shot such as fade-in, fade-out and dissolve, A model is firstly given of gradual shot change, then we find the gradual frame is linear interpolation, Based on this feature, An approach is given to recognize the gradual shot. All the algorithms have been realized in the platform VC6.0. Finally, the evaluations and test results are presented.
