Laser weapons with high repetition rate, high power and large energy can be widely used in military. It is well known that the requirement of the laser weapon systems to lasers is very rigorous, especially in volume, power consumption and cooling. In order to reduce the volume of lasers and increase the power of lasers synchronously, tight poly-lamp and poly-rod design of the laser cavities should be made.In this paper, optical specialized software TracoPro is used to analyze and simulate the single-lamp single-rob ellipse laser cavities, single-lamp double-rob ellipse laser cavities, double-lamp single-rob ellipse laser cavities, double-lamp double-rob ellipse laser cavities, three-lamp three-rob ellipse laser cavities, three-lamp three-rob column laser cavities, five-lamp five-rob ellipse laser cavities and five-lamp five-rob column laser cavities. The changes of uniformity and light-gathering efficiency with position of laser robs, eccentricity and the diameter ratio of pump lamps and laser robs have been gotten respectively. To all the simulated cavities, the light-gathering efficiency decreases while the diameter ratio of pump lamps and laser robs increases. So pump lamps with small diameter and laser rob with big diameter should be used in practice to get high light-gathering efficiency. The changing rule of light-gathering efficiency with the position of laser robs, eccentricity and the diameter of pump lamps is distinct while the uniformity not. In the case of out-focus placement, the light-gathering efficiency reaches max near the focus of the ellipse, except three-lamp three-rob ellipse laser cavities. The order of the light-gathering efficiency from high to low is the single-lamp double-rob ellipse laser cavities, five-lamp five-rob column laser cavities, single-lamp single-rob ellipse laser cavities, three-lamp three-rob column laser cavities, five-lamp five-rob ellipse laser cavities, three-lamp three-rob ellipse laser cavities, double-lamp double-rob ellipse laser cavities and double-lamp single-rob ellipse laser cavities.
