As the front field in information technology development, intelligent robotis one study of highly integration, preceding futurity, innovative practice, whichis rich in education resource. EDU-ROBOT in this paper is one kind of intelligentrobot, which is special applied in education domain. EDU-ROBOT can be used in robotclassroom teaching, or be applied in various after school activity or competitionitem as one kind of robot platform, and is full of application value. The main taskof this paper is to research and design embedded EDU-ROBOT platform.First, this paper analyses the present application and research status ofEDU-ROBOT, brings forth the several basic artifical intelligence of EDU-ROBOT, andgives many sensor implement projects.In contrast to multiple hardware platforms, this paper analyses EDU-ROBOT'sbottom control requirement and makes a constructive system design based on ARMplatform. ARM have low power consumption, high performance and good proportion ofperformance and price.Considering the respects of EDU-ROBOT's modularization and expansibility,this paper brings forward the network analysis project based on I2C bus .On theone side, the mode of bus expanding simplifies port connecting, and makesexpansibility stronger; on the other side, using I2C bus as the expanding busimproves the efficiency and speed of bus communication. This paper uses lucidregister address space mapping as its idea, designs in detail the communicationprotocols between different modules based on I2C bus, and increases the protocol'sefficiency and the code's currency.On the side of imbedded platform's bottom software, this paper uses theμC/OS-II as its RTOS platform, and enhances the real-time quality and stability.And this paper introduces the general means of programming based onμC/OS-II, andgives material example in application.Lastly, using the programming interface and method of ROBOLAB software of LEGOCompany for reference, and integrating with the characteristics of itsplatform,the paper advances the developing thought of graphic software programming of itsown.
