This paper studies the HW & SW system of WLAN access point in depth, analyzes the IEEE 802.11 MAC layer in detail, and designs the SW to simulate the MAC layer protocol.First, this paper introduces the WLAN technologies and applications, studies and analyzes the IEEE 802.11 protocol standard and MAC layer protocol systematically, focuses on the key technologies in this realm, such as Distributed Coordination Function (DCF), including Carrier -Sense Multiple Access/Conflict Avoidance (CSMA/CA), Point Coordination Function (PCF), RTS/CTS/NAV protocol mechanism, error recovery mechanism, priority control based on frame interval, poll mechanism based on PCF and etc. Second, this paper studies in depth the embedded wireless access point's HW & SW system based on the combination of Linux OS and KS8659 network processor, and gives a detailed analysis of the functions of the SW and work flow.After that, the emluator of the MAC layer protocol is designed, and the future picture of the research work and WLAN's development is given. |
