Biometrics is a technology which identifies a person based on his/her physiological characteristics. AFIS(Auto Fingerprint Identification System) is a more practical,ideal bimetric identify technique relative to the technology of face recognition or other biometrics recognition.The paper introduces all of the essential point.,discussing gray fingerprint image pretreatment in details and completing the extracting of deltas and cores.Basing on the cores and deltas we make the image classified and study the fingerprint identification in details.There are 5 chapters in the paper.Chapter 1 is Introduction. Chapter 2 is the description of the essential point in the AFIS. Chapter 3 is the extracting of glocal earmark. Chapter 4 studyies the minutia matching algorithm. At last is the summarization and prospects.The paper gets the images by the fingerprint gathering instrument, and studies the theories of fingerprint deeply based on the the PC. Discussing the realization of the pretreatment in details ,the paper designs a kind of the methods of extracting of glocal earmark which has been improved. Basing on the the classfication algorithm, we put forward the new ways of fingerprint identification.The main jobs that we do in the paper as followed:(1) Establish the AFIS in hardware based on the PC and the fingerprint gathering instrument.(2) Study the rule for the auto biometrics recognition. Design the AFIS by the aspects of working pattern, the constituent parts of system and the algorithm flow.(3) Put forward and discuss several essential points which appear in AFIS.And make the introduce for the gathering images, enhancing,extractingorientation,extracting global extracting minutiae and the ways for the basic algorithm in fingerprint identification.(4) Research the technique in pretreatment.For the extracting orientation realize the adjustable direction algorithm and the rapid algorithm from the...
