An air-traffic-control (ATC) system manages air traffic tasks and guarantees the safety of air traffic. An ATC system must be fault-tolerated and highly available. The technology of data replication provides an effective solution to achieve that goal. So, studying the application of data replication is of great value for meeting the need of ever developing ATC area.The main task of this thesis is design and implementation of data replication module in ATC system. Firstly, it introduces a general idea of technology of data replication, features of an ATC system, and the goal to design a data replication module in an ATC system. Data replication module in an ATC system is required to have the following features: fault-tolerated and highly available, transparent, extendable, and cache mechanism. Secondly, it presents principals and several key designs of the data replication module in ATC system. Designs include status, data consistency, client clerk, changing replicas dynamically, and cache mechanism. Finally, it introduces the implementation of this design in ATC system. The implementation is based on the framework of ACE. The conclusion and future work are presented in the last part.The technology adopted in this thesis is fault-tolerated and highly available.
