Automatic Face Recognition Technology (AFRT) is one of Biological characteristics Recognition Technologies. Owing to the merit of AFRT's more directly, friendly and convenient characteristic in comparison with ones of Biological recognition and the impelling of huge marketing demands from the Social Security and Trade&Finance, it has now become one of focuses in the field of Image Engineering.Face is a non-rigid object of complex model. Although human can easily identify a person face and expression, it's a very challenging task for an automatic machine to do it. Therefore, first the history and current status of face recognition technology and the main methods are given. Then, a face recognition method based on the facial color and features is given: First, a broad framework of human face is extracted through a series of image processing. The last, the more precise location of human face in photos is gained by modeling of eyes and mouth.The following key technologies are used including Images data reading, color space conversion, images of two-value, images expansion and corruption, images modeling and removing images separated points, and etc.The basic framework of Face Recognition software system is built by the application in face images express and recognition based on the method of Facial Features with K-L conversion.
