The study is aiming to develop a CAD/CAM system with independent Intellectual Property for dental cosmetology. It can improve the precision and process level of the prosthesis, lighten work intensity of the stomatologist, reduce the time of diagnosis.Object oriented method is employed to design the dental cosmetology CAD/CAM system and all its modules. The codes transplant and maintenance become easier by encapsulating corresponding functions. This paper concentrated mainly on triangular mesh reconstruction theory, the programming algorithms for teeth data reconstruction. Finally, the STL format is put forward as the data interface between CAD and CAM systems.The first chapter introduces the RE technology and the CAD /CAM application in the field of dental cosmetology, then gives the background and significance of paper selection based on this situation. The second chapter introduces the development platform of the CAD/CAM system—Visual C++6.0,OpenGL. Based on the software framework mentioned above, the third chapter introduces development and design of the basis class libraries for the software, including geometric class library design, OpenGL functionality library, as well as dynamic link libraries.The forth chapter reconstructs the tooth based on the Delaunay triangulation. The fifth chapter expounds the result of the CAD/CAM system. Finally, we conclude the paper and put forward expectation.
