Traditional current transducers mostly uses the electromagnetic current trans-former principle to implement. However, the current transformer exists some short-comings such as saturated magnetization, ferromagnetic resonance, narrow waveband, small dynamic range, in?ammability and explosibility, and the development of currenttransducer is always restricted by these drawbacks. We studied a novel fiber Bragg grat-ing current transducer system based on giant magnetostrictive material and amplifiedspontaneous emission (ASE) optical source demodulation. This transducer has manymerits, it is very suitable for current detection.Firstly, some basic work have been done for this fiber Bragg grating current trans-ducer system. The structure, manufacturing process and transduce principle of the fiberBragg grating have been discussed in detail. We systematically analyse the operat-ing principle of super-magnetostrictive material, establish hysteresis model and giventhe extracting parameters theory, and achieve computer simulation by Matlab program. The theory of ASE optical source demodulation system have been expatiated, and wemeasure out the demodulation sensitivity as ?4.0035×10?3V/μεby experiment. Inthis foundation, three kinds of current sensors have been established, which are DCtransducer, AC transducer with bias field and AC transducer without bias field. In the direct current transducer experiment, a linear range of magnetostrictive ma-terial's performance curve is used to current measuring. The experimental result indi-cate that when the output voltage and the input current have the linear relations in thesurvey scope, the performance is good.In the alternating current transducer experiment, because magnetostrictive mate-rial is works on a nonlinear range, and is accompanied by the magnetic hysteresis. Thuswe must calculate the relationship between magnetization M and the time by quadraticdomain model, and then unifies the Jiles-Atherton model and the dynamic model calcu-...
