As the development of digital and Internet technology, we have entered the times of "Post-PC", and embedded system takes an important role in this period. Embedded system is applied in more and more fields, but it brings people convenience and efficiency, along with the problem of system security. According to the deficiency of security that exists in traditional embedded operating system, the paper designs and implements an embedded security operating system which is applied in electric system, and it is named as ESOS (embedded and secure operating system). It not only ensures the system's security in Internet, but also meets the requirements of real-time and stabilization.Firstly, the paper describes the development and main applications of embedded system. Then it points out the security problem existing in embedded system, and makes analysises on it. At the end of this chapter, it makes a conclusion that the problem of embedded system's security has become more and more serious and must be treated immediately.During the process of general design toESOS, this paper firstly makes a requirement analysis based on the electric system. According to the requirement analysis, it designs the basic frame and decides the main security policy for ESOS. After doing these, it divides ESOS into several modules and gives the connection of them.After analyzing several kernel models, this paper decides to use the kernel model based on function library, because of its high performance and clearly structure, and it makes the design more convenient and can meet the requirements of electronic system.In security mechanism, this paper adapts two means—intrusion detection system based on trial and mandatory access control. Its achievement refers to the intrusion from the Internet on the condition of ensuring the real time of the system.At last, the group chooses several test tools and builds a test environment for ESOS. According to the test result, we analyze and evaluate the main performance of ESOS.
