With the abroad application of Computer Graphics, Virtual Reality and Multimedia Communications in many respects, the research about modeling and rendering of highly realistic 3D models is attracting attention. However, there are many limitations of traditional surface model in the cost, speed and applicability techniques. At the premise, a trend in modeling is to reconstruct 3D models base images, the main advantage of image-based modeling is to create third dimension 3D models by using textures expediently and fleetly from the real images.In this paper, how to obtain 3D space information and how to reconstruct third dimension 3D models are researched as the keystone. Textual reconstructing method that use matching step by step to improve precision and catch textures from images on the basis of consulting existing arithmetic is brought forward. To improve efficiency of reconstruction, the method of image collection that collected objects on the revolving flat roof is pegged and transform angle and distance is designed, and relation in sampling images. Yawp of images is removed by dealing with intensity correlation and smoothness. It can save many workloads of the next pick-up feature and feature matching. To suffice third dimension effect and reconstruction precision, first, obtain enough feature points by feature picking-up, and then use original matching arithmetic to obtain original matching points by taking covariance as comparability measurement. At last, match step by step that include use loose matching and Lemds to remove the wrong matching points. On the base of matching accurately, 3D models are reconstructed by reconstructing space points and method of surface reconstruction. Then, third dimension 3D models are reconstructed by using textures from the images.Then, application of 3D reconstruction in the visual museum is research. Experiment and analysis about all arithmetic in the method of 3D reconstruction are done. In the end, we mention some problems unsolved in this field.
