Computed Tomography (CT) is a multi-subject combo containing mathematics, physics and computer science. Professor Cormack solved the essential mathematical question in Sep. 1963; later, Houndsfield who was an engineer in EMI laboratory in U.K. invented the first CT in Sep. 1971. They wined the Nobel Prize of the year 1979 for their achievement. Now CT has been used widely in clinical diagnosis and industry detection. The research on the reconstruction algorithms is very important, as that influence the reconstruction velocity and the image quality.Currently, 3D CT scanners are under rapid development for major biomedical applications. In this thesis, we introduce some existed algorithms and analyze their characters in detail. Our results are intended to be valuable for those who are interested in evaluating, improving and extending the reconstruction algorithms.Furthermore, we provide an improved SL filter. As shown in our experiment, we got the better image than which we got by adopting the conventional SL filter. Also we can omit the step of the image post-processing.
