In this thesis, the hardware development platform based on DSP(TM S320VC5409) is discussed firstly. Then we build a recognition system of 50 words with it.In this system, the hardware platform consists of Analog Interface Circuits(AIC), a TMS320VC5409 DSP, memory module, UART communication interface and power module. The AIC is a programmable TLC320AD50 analog-to-digital and digital-to-analog chip which deals speech signal input and output. DSP(TMS320VC5409) module disposal speech recognition algorithm in real-time. Memory module include a piece of FLASH and two piece of SRAM, Flash is a 512K-word memory as program memory of DSP, SRAM are two 64K-word chips as data memory and program memory of DSP respectively.
