Predictive Control strategy has been developing quickly both in theory research and in applications, with its three characteristics of predictive model, receding horizontal optimization and feedback correction, which meet the needs of the industrial process control. Predictive Functional Control (PFC) is one of the most novel direction in this area. The theories and applications of PFC are studied in this dissertation. The main research work of this dissertation are summarized as follows:1. The general principles of Predictive Control method are introduced systematically, and a survey on the development, status and industry application of Predictive Control method is given.2. Based on the general principles, the detailed state space PFC algorithm for SISO systems is discussed and the algorithm for first-order plus pure delay process is proposed particularly. It is shown from the algorithm that it has less online calculations and is easier to put in practice. And simulation examples illustrate that the PFC method also has the following advantages: high control precision, disturbance attenuation and robustness et al.3. Controlled five-bar mechanism and hydraulic mould oscillation is introduced and analyzed simply. Aiming at the AC servo system in the controlled five-bar mechanism and the hydraulic servo system in hydraulic mould oscillation equipment, PFC is applied to the control system. The PFC-PID controller of AC servo system and the PFC controller of hydraulic mould oscillation is designed respectively. The simulation results and the comparison with PID control show that the PFC control strategy can improve the quickness, accuracy, disturbance attenuation and robustness of the servo system.Finally, the PFC research in this dissertation is summarized and the further research directions about PFC are discussed.
