In the traditional information exchange model, the mainly styles of content are words and pictures. A person will find out it is difficult to communicate or present his meanings in the situation that concerns the location information. Meanwhile, Geographical Information System (GIS) has been used by people more and more for its visual map exposed to us.Communication and Exchange Platform based on Map Service (CEPMS), which based on GIS and Peer-To-Peer (P2P), is a model that our P2P work group puts forward. CEPMS mainly provides an information exchange platform which supports location service for communication. The core spirit of CEPMS is the usage of GIS service and P2P technique which has been used to organize the bottom layer of the networks. The model system uses each peer's ability to store spatial data and also the data published by peers in P2P network. It also has enhanced the performance of P2P topology which makes our system to be more reliable and stable.Though there are some researches about using the P2P to implement distributed storage, research on storing special data based over P2P networks is rare. This paper gives an effective approach research on this field. Based on deeply studying the features of spatial data, spatial data model and the features of P2P networks, the paper puts forward a solution to store, search and download the special data over P2P networks. It also applies the solution to our CEPMS system which proves its feasibility.
