DS-UWB which is an integration of Direct Sequences Spread Spectrum and Impulse Radio is a promising technology in short-rage indoor wireless communication, accurate position and other great usage in the near future. UWB technology put it into practice to reuse the scarce frequency resource. At the same time, it inevitably becomes a potential interference to other wireless communications. So the coexistence of UWB with other communication systems is one of the most important problems in UWB research.In this paper, we explain the coexistence and compatible problem of DS-UWB with other wireless communication systems. First, we deduced the DS-UWB PSD from the signal model and discuss the key factors excluding PSD of modulated sequence, PRF and ESD of pulse waveform, which affect the DS-UWB PSD and find the way to control the distribution of PSD. Waveform designing is the most feasible and effective method for the coexistence and compatible problem of DS-UWB with other wireless communication systems. We discuss the property of Gaussian differential pulse and design the Gaussian differential pulse to satisfy FCC spectral mask with analytic function method. Second, we put forward the way to study the coexistence and compatible problem of DS-UWB with other wireless communication systems and discuss the path loss model which fit for coexistence and compatible research. The computer simulations for DS-UWB interference to GPS (L1) receiver have been done and the results have been compared and analyzed.
