Relay control system, or contactor control system, is one of the firstly used control systems. It has been applied in many fields now, due to its reliable control and simple devices. The function of a relay control system must be analysed when it is being designed, and so during the process of the system running and being maintained. Simulating relay control systems by computer can help to enhance efficiency, reduce engineers'work load, and improve reliability of relay control systems. Therefore, it is valuable to study how to simulate relay control systems by computer and do research on its computer simulation methods.We have investigated domestic and foreign researches in computer simulation of relay control systems deeply; and found there are two issues which haven't been resolved perfectly: extracting electrical contact informations and simulating events'sequential-quality. We focused on these two issues and providing a better solution, the results are as follows:1. We model electrical contacts as a switched network. We have studied how to distill a connection matrix between two nodes in a generalized switched network; using Tarjan's graph partition algorithm and nonseparable two-terminal graph concept, we proposed an effective algorithm. Based on this, and by dint of switched network theory, we accessed a way to get electrical contacts—switched functions of load elements.2. On simulating events'sequential-quality, we gave an idea of"batch"; instead of conforming to events'physical time precisely, we consider about their logical sequence. We proposed an events simulation method based on the idea"batch", considering spreading quality of events and time-mapping logic simulating methods.3. We also provided algorithms to get non-electrical contacts and exporting/importing components from relay control systems; depending on generic engineering drawing expression, these algorithms can identify non-electrical contacts. Under the system simulation theory, and taking characteristics of relay control systems into account, we designed a relay control systems simulation framework—the functional engine. Based on all above work, we implemented a CAD simulation prototype system for relay control systems; a number of relay control systems were simulated on it and the results were correct.
