With the development of technology of digital information, embedded operating system not only has involved in the scientific research and engineering domains, but also has many affinities with people's life. So embedded operating system becomes the focus of attention. RTEMS has gained more and more attention for his stability, real-time and developable character and the support for multiprocessor.Firstly, we analyze the architecture of RTEMS, especially his support for multiproces sor. Based on the analysis, RTEMS-for-SPARC which supports multiple sparc processors is designed, and DSIS, the simulator of SPARC, which supports two processors, is also implemented.We mainly implement the following three functions:(1) MPCLS MultiProcessor Communication Layer for SPARC: MPCLS includes the MPCIS MultiProcessor Communication Interface for SPARC, the layer of shared memory and the layer about the hardware. We implement the MPCLS which make use of the shared memory to communicate.(2) STSF scalable task scheduling frame: Scalable task scheduling mechanism makes up the faulty of RTEMS which only use one scheduling algorithm-RM algorithm. And an improved RM algorithm which uses double-PRI strategy is implemented.(3) Implementation of DSIS: DSIS is an simulator for multiprocessor of SPARC , which communicate with each other by the shared memory. DSIS supplies an good tool for verifying the design of the RTEMS operation system.
