The Research Of Motion Estimation In The Field Of Video Compression

The encoding of video is one of the hot topic in the information technology field. Video sequence has rather relativity on time axis, Motion Estimation and Motion Compensate can reduce this relativity effectively, so it has been widely used in many video standards such as H.26x and MPEGIn this thesis, We Firstly introduces some basic technologies in video coding including the macro-block size, prediction of initial search point, search strategy and so on, then simulate some kind of block matching motion estimation algorithms and analysis there performance. Aiming at the shortcut of the existing algorithms, for example, they don't make use of the correlation and center-biased characters, we proposed two kind of improved ones, named a new motion estimation algorithm for video coding and a diamond search algorithm based on adaptive prediction for video motion estimation respectively, both of which sufficiently take use of characteristic of motion vector including correlation and center-biased...
