Research On The Application Of Attention Technology In Web-based Course Design

Along with the network economy prosperity, the technology of capturing attention resources is receiving people's broad attention. The famous business master Thomas·Davenport, in his book Attention Economy, has created a name for this kind of technology---Attention Technology. Specifically speaking, Attention Technology is the kind of technology that is based on human's physiological psychological mechanism, and takes modern information technology as the backing. Its purpose is to attract and maintain other's attention. Attention Technology is mainly divided into attention-obtaining technology, attention-constructing technology and attention-protecting technology. For the first time, this paper introduces Attention Technology ideas into web-based course design. From the angle of applying Attention Technology, this paper attempts to solve such problems existing in web-based course design as insufficient appraisal and feedback; halfway design of interface, navigation and interactive and so on.Taking human's physiological psychological mechanism as the foundation, analyzing Attention Technology characteristic, the author carried on the specific research on applying Attention Technology into web-based course design. Based on correlative theories, this research constructed flow chart of applying Attention Technology into web-based course design, and proposed the corresponding methods and the principles. The main text consists of six parts:The first part is the introduction, mainly elaborates the status quo of web-based course design and attention research in our country. And on this elaborate foundation, this article elaborated the feasibility and the significance of introducing Attention Technology into web-based course. Based on attention-obtaining technology ideas, we may elaborate visual design of web-based course on a deeper level. Based on attention-constructing technology ideas, we may elaborate on navigation, interaction and so on on a deeper level.
