Port And Optimization Of Java Virtual Machine On GodSon

Having our own high-performance processor is very important for China. GodSon series processors are the first self-dependent general processors in our country, and as one of them, Godson II is one of the first-class processors in the world now. One of the most important applications of GodSon is to run enterprise applications. Java/J2EE is the most popular development tool for enterprise applications. Some softwares such as mozilla, openoffice depend on Java. It's important to develop a Java Virtual Machine for GodSon.In this paper, we investigate technologies concerned with Java Virtual Machine, such as the JVM Standard, Interpreter, JIT Compiler, Garbage Collection, and so on. We analyse the advantages and disadvantages of several popular Java Virtual Machine projects, and port Sun JDK(Java Development Kit) 1.5 to GodSon.We analyse the performance of the Hotspot on GodSon2, compared to the x86 version. Some optimizations such as get_thread and rangecheck are done for Godson.
