The market competition becomes more and more intense, which enables the product development speed become an extremely important factor. Traditional mechanical products in our country have weak market competition and serious aging because of its long new product development cycle and high costs. The mature virtual prototyping technology provides a powerful method to solve these problems. This paper analyzes characteristics and advantages of the virtual prototyping technology as well as some insufficiencies existing in presenting machine design methods, making a research of applying virtual prototyping technology to design and develop remote control robot applied to deal with emergencies. The research includes the following six aspects:Make an introduction of the elementary theory of the virtual prototyping technology. Review the presenting research in this aspect whatever domestic or foreign countries. Point out the necessities applying to design and develop remote control robot applied to deal with emergencies.Analyze the system function compositions of the robot. Introduce characteristics of some relating software, and then propose the realization strategy of the virtual prototyping technology of the robot and a technical frame is given.Analyze the characteristics of the hydraulic system modeling after the introduction of system simulation modeling theory. Study the hydraulic pressure cycle route of the robot and get the mathematical model of the basic hydraulic pressure parts and the hydraulic system of the virtual prototype of the robot.Build a non-linear simulation model of the basic hydraulic pressure parts of the virtual prototype in the environment of Matlab/Simulink. Realize the construction of the modules of the hydraulic system simulation model and parameterizations design of the parts.Make an introduction of parameterizations analysis of ADAMS. Study the optimized design of the virtual prototype of the robot and make an optimized analysis of the amplitude organization of the robot in ADAMS.Make a study of the system integration of the virtual prototype of the robot. Propose a simulation strategy separating the organization system model and the hydraulic system model of the virtual prototype. Build a hydraulic pressure subsystem with ADAMS/Hydraulics. Realize the synchronized simulation of the mechanical system and hydraulic system.
