Performance Evaluation And Optimization Of Web Servers

The performance evaluation and analysis is one of the most important branches of computer sciences. With the great development of Internet, people make more and more access to Web servers. Its inevitable result is to make higher requirement of the performance of Web servers.This paper first gives the definitions of server and the performance of server. Then it talks about the key issues of Web server performance and how to solve these key issues from the views of workload, server software and server hardware. At last, we applied our method to Dawning-2000 and Dawning-3000 from many aspects such as optimization of server software, server software configuration, application performance optimization, how to configure hardware server and how to extend the performance optimization of a single Web server to cluster.
