The virtual prototyping technology is a new research pattern that will supersede the traditional physical prototype, which shortens the periods of design, reduces the cost of design, improves the products quality, and has great implementing value in engineering field. Scientific project management methods should be employed in virtual prototyping engineering, in order to schedule the project reasonably, organize the developing team efficiently, assign the resources equitably. Project management subsystem is the core module in the virtual prototyping engineering, manages all the people and resources in the system as a whole, and as the same time, a wholesome security management mechanism should be introduced to safeguard the legitimate operations and prevent the destroy.In this thesis, the progress of using documents is analyzed, in order to keep secrets in files storage and files transfers, hiding files and encryption technology are introduced into the system. The access control technology in project management system is researched, an improved role-based access control models is presented which introduce conception of task hierarchy. Negative privilege is introduced into system for the complex privilege management, which strength capability of controlling privilege and the system agility. The need of active authorization in project management is discussed, a new active authorization mechanism is proposed based the workflow technology, which makes the authorization be consistent with the workflow. In the end, it gives prospects of further research.
