Research On Color Character Extraction Of Frequently Used Image File

Along with the rapid development of multimedia technical and Internet technology, the image use is widely used in every walk of life, the management and retrieval of image imformation resources become increasingly important. How the image data can be effectively manage and search is a challenge to multimedia, as well as the database technology.In several kinds of image characteristics, the color is most direct and the simple characteristic in all images, as well as a very important characteristic of the image content, for example, texture characteristic, color characteristic, spatial characteristic and so on. based on these merits of color characteristic and in-depth analysis on the file structures of the image in commom use, this article forms basal arithmetic through studying the extraction method of color histogram and accumulation histogram about image file such as BMP,PCX,TGA , and so on .It builds a solid foundation for the effective management image and improvement on the retrieval efficiency. At last, the accuracy of algorithm is been confirmed by using Microsoft Visual C++6.0.
