GNSS is the abbreviation of Global Navigation Satellite System. It is being widely used in civil and military areas, such as positioning, timing, and navigation. GPS, which based on radio ranging and CDMA, has the most typical technique in GNSS. It is the most popular one in use today. The receiver is the key device to get positioning service in user segment of GPS.With the developing GNSS technology and the extending market, that we should get a deeper knowledge of GNSS technology is getting more and more recognition. These years, domestic universities have translated and compiled a lot of literatures of GNSS, and give such courses. As just in developmental phase, it is urgently in need of the experiment devices which are fit for GNSS courses teaching.Software receiver technique is one of the focuses of nowadays GNSS field. It directly processes the navigation signal accessed from A/D converter by software approach. It can be built on a personal computer or a general platform which can process digital signal. Software receiver concentrates on the signal process arithmetic of the digitized signal. It is involved in all aspects of GNSS. All of these make it fit for scientific research and teaching and experiment.So the thesis takes the GPS as the study object, purposes to develop a software GPS model for experiment. At first, it discusses the GPS positioning principle and its signal structural on positioning need. The major part is about the GPS-SPS service. It talks about the method of how to process the two direct measured value on GPS LI signal, which are the C/A code sequence shift and the carrier Doppler frequency shift. In the end, it accomplishes a software model of the baseband segment in a GPS receiver. The innovation is building a GPS receiver model, which can be provided to universities as an open experiment platform for GNSS teaching.The thesis analyzes the GPS signal acquisition, track solution in GPS receiver, and their implements in a software approach. And it explains the procedure of a GPS receiver development on the whole, gives a blue print of how to develop a software GPS receiver.
