Study On Detecting And Preventiving Methods For The Attack Of Distributed Denial Of Service

The attack of Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) is a common form of baleful intrution attack. Due to its invisibility and distribution, it is difficult to detect and prevent the DDoS attack. In recent years, DDoS has brought non-assessable damages to the Internet business. Therefore, research of the efficient detecting and preventing DDoS attack has become a very important issue in the network intrusion detection field. Currently, people carry on a great deal of research work to prevent, detect and counterattack to the DDoS attack, and also achieve some important progress. This paper mainly rearches on DDoS detecting method, which is based on discrete wavelet transformation and fractal theory,and it also researches on an ICMP traceback method of DDoS attack source ,which is based on cooperative filtering mechanismThis paper presents a DDoS detecting algorithm by applying the discrete wavelet transformation and fractal theory.Firstly it validates the fact that testing the normal flow data set and it added by attack have the scale-invariable property.
