In the system of intelligent domestic cleaning robot, auto cleaning, docking charge while batteries are exhausted and so forth assignments are achieved by charge station and the robot working together. The level of technology of charge station's hardware and software is a crucial factor to the automatic grade of domestic cleaning robot. As a result of that, this paper in detail studies charge station of intelligent domestic cleaning robot.Firstly, the paper introduces the development history of technology of cleaning robot, and discusses the background of auto charging. In order to satisfy the auto charging, and telecontrol requirements of intelligent domestic cleaning robot system, an IR wireless communication system is presented based on MCU and a controller of fast charging. Secondly, we expatiate the work principle and the implemental method of IR wireless communication system and strongpoint and flaw of IR coding, then constitute the IR communication protocol which is used by both main body of charge station and appropriative remote device, design idiographic circuit of it. Finally, controller of fast charging is designed at the base of analyzing characteristic of Ni-MH batteries.In the design of control software, the paper designs the keyboard and IR communication in MCU system using assembly language of SNC in series, and store coding data of IR protocol in memory to achieve IR communication. In the experiment and test part, we complete the full test of charge station, independence charge and telecontrol experimentation with the robot. The experiment indicates that the intelligent domestic cleaning robot system has the ability of auto cleaning, docking charge, the charge station could communicate with robot, fast and safe charge for battery. The experimental result meet the request of plan.
