Along with information time rapid development, the information which people need to save assumes the exponential order grows. At the same time, people hope to find out the valuable knowledge hiding behind the data from the massive information. However, the traditional Analysis method has not been able to meet this need. With this kind of social strong demand, the data mining technology arises at the historic moment. At present, the data mining has successfully applied in society's many fields include the finance, the medical service, the science, the industry and so on. The data mining is one pointed very strong Discipline, which can use the different strategy and the method in different applications. In data mining field, data preprocessing occupies the very important position, it is the precondition of mining valuable knowledge.The Chinese traditional medicine is our precious wealth given by our ancient times working peopling. Distinguishing symptom is essence in the Chinese traditional medicine, is the main research content of diagnostics in Chinese traditional medicine. At present there is not a uniform standard criterion for distinguishing symptom, which restricts the further developing of the Chinese medicine. For solving this problem, we cooperate with LiaoNing Chinese traditional medicine college to build the data mining system of distinguishing Chinese traditional medicine symptom for children pneumonia. We have finished the inputting data system for children pneumonia, which collected massive datasets. We can use those datasets and applying the data mining technology, discover the rule of the symptom of children pneumonia, to constitute the uniform standard criterion of children pneumonia for distinguishing symptom. This project is supported by National key Technologies R&D Program in the 10th Five-year Plan of China.
