Design And Implementation Of The Patch Management System

With the combination of virus and software vulnerability, worms such as CodeRed, Nimda, SQL Slammer and Blaster, have caused great damage to global network and even economy. Software patches are vital to combat this combination. On the other hand, manually applying patches can not adapt to the large-scale network, and the automation tool for patch management is needed.The paper discusses the problem of computer vulnerability and the typical process of patch management. Then, it presents an active vulnerability response model in developing RjPDMS patch management system. In addition, this paper introduces the functions of RjPDMS system. Then this paper describes the design and implementation of RjPDMS system. Finally, this paper analyzes the problem encountered in deploying the system and proposes a solution based on Genetic Algorithm.
