Non-cooperate communication is commonly used in civilian and military applications, where it is required to monitor the activities of communication signals in space and ground, intercept and estimate the communication parameters, demodulate the transmitting information content with little prior knowledge. Automatic modulation recognition and modulation parameters estimation are key problems in non-cooperative communication systems. So it is necessary to recognize the modulation type and estimate the modulation parameters automatically.Aiming at the signals including {CW, AM, MASK, MPSK, MFSK, 16QAM} signals usually used in communication system, a method is proposed on the recognition and symbol-rate estimation in this paper on the basis of the methods available of communication signals feature extraction. A method recognizing base-band signals based on high order cumulants and improved by ANN network is discussed in this paper.The research on the baud rate estimation for MPSK/MQAM signals using CZT shows that the proposed estimation algorithm can obtain a baud rate value with a short observation interval.
