This dissertation is about the research on Ultra-Wideband (UWB) antennas and simulations. It's introduced that historical development of UWB antennas, also with UWB antennas' theory and how to do design an UWB antenna, at last, a micro-strip UWB antennas and system is presented.With the development of UWB radio communication system, UWB antennas have become a hot topic in telecommunication industry and the design work of UWB antennas is a big challenge. Because it asks the antennas not only to have a very wide impendence bandwidth but also have a fixed phase center, only in this way the received antennas can have very low waveform dispersion in the mean time to have high efficiency. In this dissertation, many researches has been done on UWB antennas and Gaussian pulse, impendence characteristics of UWB antennas, small-element electric antennas and small-element magnetic antennas, phase center and waveform dispersion of UWB antennas, and so on. And some of well designed UWB antennas are researched in detail. Besides, simulations on three UWB antennas with software are done and it's proposed the design of an UWB antenna based on micro-strip antenna.According to the simulations and design, more characteristics of UWB antennas have been analyzed.
