Recently , the technique of intrusion detection develops quickly ,became an important method in network security.Intelligent Methods for Intrusion Detection System is hot spot in the field of network security. The artificial neural network has the capability of self-organization, self-learning and generalization. Application of neural network in IDS can not only identify the known attack, but also can detect the new attack and abnormal event. The emergence of the DDoS(Distributed Denial of Service),which has made DID(Distributed Intrusion Detection) an important research point of the intrusion detection and the whole network safety.This text lead into self-organizing maps artificial neural network and distribution technique. Then set up an intelligent distributed intrusion detection system (IDIDS). And proceed the research to the system model. At last, set up an experiment system to realize the model.During the realization of the system, this text explains in detail the realization process of network sensor agent and monitor agent in the operating system of windows 2000.
