Initial alignment is one of the key INS (Inertial Navigation System) technologies. The capability of the SINS (Strapdown Inertial Navigation System) is relate to the speed and precision of Initial alignment. This paper focuses on the use of Gyrocompass theory for Initial alignment. This paper starts with the error model of SINS, studies deeply for the demand of Gyrocompass theory, and builds an Initial alignment mathematics model, then design the arithmetic and control flow, following the Initial alignment mathematics model, chose the control parameters properly, following the Auto control theory. After theory analysis, four experiments which simulate many conditions that might be happened are performed. The results express that: errors can be reduced to 0.1°in 500s, and this system can be used in the high latitude area. Then experiments which use the real data are performed. In the experiments, the velocity got by GPS is used to be the reference. When the vehicle moves, the alignment system keeps working. The results express that, the precision of Navigation system is similar to the GPS, which is 0.2m/s of velocity and 10m of locality.
