Pipe Support design is an important part of plant design. In plant design with large number of complicated pipes, pipe support design is always the most time-consuming part, which affects the whole process of plant design. Pipe support CAD software can greatly improve the efficiency and quality of pipe support design, then reduce the cycle of plant design, and avoid mistakes.First of all, this thesis analyzes the demand of pipe support CAD system and the shortcomings of current pipe support CAD software. Based on the structure model of the system we propose, we study the key technologies in pipe support design, such as data management, constraint representation and solution, geometry modeling. These contents are classified as follows:1, First we analyze the current status of pipe support CAD software, then summarize the functional demand of pipe support CAD software, and also present the key technologies pipe support CAD system design. Based on this, the emphases of this thesis are determined.2, According to the characteristics and demand of pipe support CAD system, we propose the whole hierarchy model based on C/S of the system, and the general structure model of the system aiming at function realization. These models support the cooperation in pipe support CAD system efficiently.3, After analyzing the characteristics of pipe support data, we propose an DBMS architecture based on page server. Also, object-relation data model is adopted in the system. These methods provide basis for the cooperation mechanism based on data-share.4, Based on the analysis on the characteristics of the topological structure of pipe support, we propose an description method of this structure. Hierarchy-based graph are used to represent the constraint model of pipe support. And local constraint propagation methods are adopted to solve the constraints. By these methods, we can fully describe the constraints in a pipe support, and manage these constraints effectively.5, After summarizing the geometrical characteristic of pipe support, we use graph...
