| In natural language, the time information is an important message. Some studies indicate that the time share information in the text after proper noun. When people read a piece of news in normal life, they always want to know the content and time of the news. They can know the frequency that the event happened and why it happened. Then they can make decisions by knowing these messages. Therefore, the processing of time information is a very important part of natural language understanding. It is very important for Information extraction, Information Retrial, Question Answering, Summarization and Data Mining.The study focused on the obvious temporal expressions of Chinese news, especially the event temporal information. We discovered that we can combine events and time indicates into time phrases which are a kind of obvious temporal expressions. We name them event temporal information.The main work of this thesis:A. Make sure of the time phrase's types: according to the ACE Chinese Annotation Guidelines for Timex2 (Summary) and the true corpus.B. Preprocess the text: including words segmentation and part-of-speech tagging;C. Tagging text for getting the template rules of time phrases and getting the boundary decision features of event temporal expressions. |
