Optimal band selection and combination of multi-spectrum data is the key for image enhancement, it directly influences eye estimation and object information distilled. Selection of optimal bands and optimal combination can obviously extrude and differ land types. Now, study on optimal bands for wetland study is very little in Applying Remote Sensing. This paper tries applying Remote Sensing, taking wetland in western Inner Mongolia as an example, on the support of Remote Sensing data 2002 and image processing software PCI, to discuss optimal bands selection and combination in order to give prominence to wetland type.Principles of optimal bands selection are that spectrum characteristics have difference to the biggest among land types except information quantity of selected band is so big and correlation between bands is so little. This paper selects representative samples Wuliangsu lake, Yellow River, Dongjuyan Lake and Ejina salina, after information is analyzed, using optimal band index OIF index, spectrum characteristics curve and application scope of each band to select optimal bands. The result shows that band 3, 4, 5 are best ones and ETM453 combination is the best after R, G, B composed. All this fit for Western Inner Mongolia. It can provide wetland information to the biggest, this must be advantageous to eye estimation.
