Design And Implementation Of Spatio-temporal Data Management Middleware

The work of this paper is a part of national 863 high technique project,"Web Intelligence Applications Development and Runtime Platform (WIADRP)", which is taken by the lab of knowledge ware and knowledge engineering of Jilin University. The main aim of the whole project is abstraction and capsulation of the property of intelligent field, design and implementation of the intelligence applications development and runtime platform which is based on Internet and according to various of component specifications, under the prerequisite with general purpose. This platform includes a group of middleware, soft components, development tools and fundamental class library in order to realize the fast development and efficient operation of web intelligent application systems and the interoperation between heterogeneous intelligent application systems.In some of application domains, the supporting of the platform for the geography information data is indispensable, and some times these data is also related to time. This is the major reason that we develope the spatio-temporal data management middleware.The aim of our work is that we do thorough research on spatio-temporal data, spatial reasoning, GML, SVG, and combined them with WebGIS technology, design and develop the spatio-temporal data management middleware, which can be integrated into the platform.Usually, people develop WebGIS based on various existing WebGIS developing products. But the prices of these products are too expensive. These products usually contain lots of coding, can not be cut down, and possess their own copyright. So it will be very difficult when you want to commercialize your products. Especially in special occasions, such as you only need a little part of functions of WebGIS, it will be hulking and lack of efficiency. The spatio-temporal data web publish component in the middleware, developed based on GML and SVG technology, includes a series of geography information data conversion tools and one geography data publish tool. It has flexible structure, low cost, and it can realize the most functions of WebGIS. The spatio-temporal data management middleware can be widely utilized, includes agriculture, municipal administration, traffic, meteorology and so on. Especially in agriculture, it is effective to solve some key problems in agricultural production, to support the agricultural sustainable development, and to realize agricultural modernization.
