Study On The Methodology Of Webometrics

Along with increasing development of Internet and exploiture of Internet information resources, webometrics is rising. As a new and applied science, webometrics' character determines that methodology plays a fundamental role in webometrics. To a certain extent, method system and its efficiency determines the life force of webometrics. In other words, the history of webometrics is the course of improvement of its research methods. Nowadays, the study on webometrics' methods is simple and non-systemic, and webometrcis' method system hasn't been formed. So it is significant to develop and improve webometrics' methodology.This thesis mainly studies on the methodology of webomtrics from three aspects including theoretics research of method, special methods and the application of method. In detail, firstly, expound systemic knowledge about webometrics' methodology on the view of whole subject;Secondly, put forward 3-dimensional framework of webometrics' methods composed of theoretical research methods, data collection methods and outcome expression methods, and construct a corresponding software system which suits this 3-dimensional framework;Thirdly, introduce some typical special methods and software tools of webometrics;In the end, investigate the efficiency of "information visualization analysis" in the empirical study of collaboration network.
