Using Prefetching To Improve Web Application User Experience In A Large Data Environment

A large data environment is a big challenge to all applications. In order to improve the efficiency of web applications, prefetching is imported. The basic idea is to predict user's future requests when processing his current request, and prefetching required data for later access which may hide the user delay. The thesis analyses some prediction strategies and gives out a general Ajax based web application prefetching implementation. With this general implementation, the thesis provides concrete implementations for two common applications and also discusses how to design UI in order to improve user experience.
