Power amplifier is used in many fields, such as sound amplifier and electric vibration generator. Switching power amplifier is one of two types of the Power amplifier, which has higher efficiencies than Linear power amplifier, so switching power amplifier is expected to be used in high power amplifier systems(more than 1kW).In order to improve the performance of the switching power amplifier(more than 1kW), the thesis is focus on developing a multi-level switching power amplifier module, using power MOSFET device, and design a digital control method for easy implementation on the module.Firstly, the thesis analyzes the availability and advantage of the Five-Level Neutral-Point-Clamped Inverter ("FNI" for abbreviation) for the switching power amplifier. And describes the digital signal processor used in the experiment.Secondly, the thesis reviews the control method for FNI and introduces an improved method which can be easily implemented on the digital signal processor. And an experimented novel neutral point control techniques can be developed from the improved method.Then, the thesis studies the interleaving operation of the switching power amplifier, analyzes the operation by simulink. And design an easier and low cost interleaving control method of FNI module.Finally, the author designs a 2.5kW , 20kHz prototype switching power amplifier module based on the FNI. The experimental results verify the availability of interleaving digital control techniques of the multi-level switching power amplifier.
