With the development of media and Internet, the frequency resource ofcommunication system is more limited. To develop the highly efficient coding, modulation and signal processing technology is becoming the most necessarymeasure to improve the spectrum efficiency.Space-time coding(STC) combinesthe technique of channel coding and antenna diversity,it improves the diversitygain and coding gain remarkably and eliminates the interference and contradictthe multipath fading effectively. So STC increases the capacity of wirelesscommunication greatly. This technique provides a new solution to the problemof limited bandwidth in wireless communication.Space-time coding includes layered space-time coding(LSTC),space-timetrellis coding(STTC) and space-time block coding(STBC).The orthogonalSpace-time block coding(STBC) is deeply concerned because of its simpleencoded, decoded algorithm and the better performance. The main contents areas follows:(1)The simple squaring decode algorithm of STBC is deeply studied.Basing on studying the channel capacity over the rayleigh fading, the paperdeduced the capacity formula of STBC over the Nakagami fading channels andsimulated the capacity.(2)The paper deeply studied the keyhole channels. Firstly Equalized theMIMO Nakagami fading channels to a SISO channels, basing on this, thecapacity formula of STBC over the keyhole Nakagami fading channels isderived. The result is also simulated and analyzed. The paper compared thiscapacity over the keyhole with the capacity over the non-keyhole.Theconclusions have certain reference value for the actual application of STBC.(3)The performance of STBC is analyzed. The expression of symbol errorrate(SER) of STBC is deduced. We also established the simulation model andgot the Monte Carlo simulation results. Then compared the results with thenumerical simulation results and verified the expression of SER we deduced iscorrect.
