Several typical control methods for unstable processes with time delays areintroduced and their sufficient and necessary conditions for robust stabilization arepresented. For industrial applications the robustness of the methods are analyzed andcompared. A robust stabilization method for output feedback is presented to solve finitedimension stabilization problem and is applied to suppress instability in the combustionprocess. A modified IMC structure is proposed for oscillatory unstable processes withtime delays. The tuning method for every controller is designed and its effectiveness isproved by typical simulation experiments. |
