Under the rapid development of network and communication technology, more information and automatic control are demanded at home. All these are based on intelligent home network. It is well known that the Data Communication Protocol for Building Automation Control network (BACnet), the international standard communication protocol, directs the further development of intelligent home network. At the same time, the video surveillance system is an important part of intelligent building security system. Therefore, BACnet based intelligent home system which adopts the video surveillance system has many potential applications. Firstly, the structure of intelligent home system based on BACnet is analyzed. After the brief introduction of video surveillance system history, the importance of video surveillance system in BACnet intelligent home system is explained. On the basis of these, the structure of the video surveillance system is analyzed. The whole system design and each sub-system software design are presented in this thesis. Secondly, the coding mechanism of BACnet is studied and analyzed. For the application demands of BACnet en/decoder, a cutoff-supporting and embedded-oriented design is proposed. And the implementation of BACnet en/decoder, which is the fundamental component of video surveillance system in BACnet network, is described in detail. After this, some key technologies in system software implementation are analyzed. And the video surveillance system's implementation in BACnet is studied and described in detail. Then for the demand of BACnet protocol state machine test in video surveillance system and other systems in BACnet intelligent home system, a BACnet protocol state machine test method is proposed. Furthermore, a description model of state machine and an algorithm of state transfer judgment are also proposed. The feasibility of the test method is validated by the analysis of a test example in video surveillance system. Finally, conclusions of the system are presented, and some propositions about the direction and contents of further research are suggested at the end of this thesis.
