Research And Implementing For The Test Automation Framework

Software testing plays a very important role in the whole process of software development. In order to conquer the difficulties of manual testing, and enhance the quality of software as well as efficiency of software testing, the automation of testing process is widely applied.It catches the extensive attention with its characters, such as high automation degree, strong practicability, and so on. And it has been the developing direction of software testing.The appearance of test automation framework product indicates that the technology of software automated testing is going to be mature. The insufficiency of using capture/playback and script tools is being got over, thus, automates testing will become more economical and efficient, and be more advantageous to be implemented maintained. A information filled with hopes is that more time can be used to increase the coverage and improve the quality of software product along with the decrease of the time expended on development and script maintenance, thereby, investment on automation can be paid back faster.The paper explains the theory of automates testing and ATLM methodology combined with actual application of test automation framework in detail. In the meanwhile, it discusses and describes several test automation frameworks and their realization.The thesis has four parts. The first chapter summarizes automated testing, including its introduction and basic content. The second part introduces automated testing at length, including the problems of automated testing, the principles of implementing it, and bring forward test automation framework. In the third chapter, I introduce two or three kinds of test automation frameworks, and compare one with others. At last, using a defined and developed test automation framework—WRAF by our effort to demonstrate the application of test automation framework.
