Doppler Radio Direction Finder is a technology that measures the angle between radio transmitter and the radio using Doppler effect (Doppler principle). With the development of Doppler Radio Direction Finder technology, it is utilized in many aspects. It is especially important for radio recon and radio detector. The Doppler Radio Direction Finder technology has smaller error, higher sensitivity than other direction finder technology. And it can measure the elevation angle.In this paper, a Radio Direction Finder system is designed on the basis of the principle of Doppler Diretion Finder technology. This system consists of antenna array, Doppler diretion finder, system controller and display. The Doppler diretion finder is the key element of the system. It separates the Doppler shift from the RF signals and calculates the bearing, sending the results to controller. System controller is the backbone of the system. It controls the work mode of the system according to the user's demand. And it analyses the bearings and send final result to the display.The first section of this paper discusses the theory of the Doppler Radio Direction Finder technology. And the second section is the detail about the hardware of Doppler Direction Finder and the hardware and software of control circuit and display circuit in system. Then the key technique and implementation of every part are described in this paper. Finally this paper analyzed the measure result of this system in contrast with GPS.
