As one of the most reliable biometric technologies, iris recognition is developed rapidly during the last ten years, and it has important significance both in research and application field. At present, iris recognition technologies are not mature enough;only a few application systems of iris recognition have been used in small-scale field. The goal of the task is to accelerate iris recognition system and improve the iris recognition effectively.In this paper, the constitution of iris recognition system and researches that have been proposed in this area are introduced firstly. We have developed the PM diffusion equation. After analyzing some algorithms of iris preprocessing, we propose to detect iris edge with improved PM diffusion filter. Experiments show that our proposal is more efficient than other edge-detectors. After analyzing iris location algorithms, we locate iris with high efficiency using the method of three points to determine the center of a circle. After studying feature extraction algorithms, we approve that the PM diffusion coefficient can be used to describe the texture information of a digit image, and propose to make iris texture analyze with PM diffusion coefficient. At last chapter, we design an iris recognition system, and explain how to achieve the pivotal technologies.At the end of this paper, in order to optimize our system, the future work of this task is pointed out.
