Development And Actualization Of Endowment Insurance Management Information System For Kunming Railway Administration

Great emphasis had been laid on the reformation of endowment insurance system with the development of social insurance system reformation in China. Therefore, it was necessary to develop a set of endowment insurance management information system for employees which could be operated synchronously and flexibly with the practical policy.From this practical purpose the paper aimed at developing a management system of endowment insurance for employees of Kunming Railway Administration according to employees endowment insurance policy and regulation of the Nation and Yunnan Province, taking account of the practice of Kunming Railway Administration. Based on the discussion on the general concept of endowment insurance and the description of the operation area and flow, this paper mainly included: network design and construction for information system of endowment insurance, plan and construction for database, development of client applications software, history data transfer, system security, and so on.Database development technology (Oracle 9i), and software development platforms (PowerBuilder 9.0) which were more advanced at present were applied into the study of information system for endowment insurance management. The system comprised three parts: plan and construction of server database, development of client application platform, and construction of local area network. The system had been developed successfully in April, 2004. Now, the operations of endowment insurance for employees of Kunming Railway Administration were fully conducted on the system. The system carried out the policy more strictly, provided leaders with the basis of macro-decision-making more quickly and reliably, greatly lightened the working burden of railway stations, and elevated the level of informationization management and service. The plan of development and actualization proved effective and feasible by the application of the system.The paper may be significant to the management and development of endowment insurance information for large-scale corporation and industry and for individual account management system.
