A typical RFID system consists of radio frequency transponders, Radio frequency reader unit and receiving and transmitting antenna. Smart label is one kind of special type transponder, who consists of a microchip and a subminiature antenna. Though smart labels have been used in several fields successfully, more improvements should be achieved for its further using. First, label's cost must been reduced, on the other hand, it should own flexible configuration. Because the microchip's size is very small, which is about lor 2 mm. And the antenna almost covers all of the label's area. So these improvements can be realized by design a flexible inductor and manufacture it by low-cost technics. The inductor should be used as an energy-coupling instrument. Its flexility can be achieved by using flexible material. And the design of inductor should be realized in flexible configuration. By experimentally study we analyze the characteristic of electric ink and AL-PET- multiple film, choose Al-PET-multiple film as the material, and adopt screen-printed technology to fabricate inductors. Large numbers of thick-film inductor have been fabricated. They own different parameters such as shape, turn, and space between the lines, wide of the line. A large number of experiments have been done to measure the inductors. By analyzing the data gained in experiment, the rules of how the parameters influence the inductor's character can be summed up.In addition, a RFID application system has been established. It works as the hardware module in new-style material management system. This system is compatibled with existing material management system.
